Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of Professor Charlie Spillane's Genetics research group & laboratory. Our  research group conducts both fundamental and applied research, predominantly (though not extensively!) in plant and agricultural systems.

The SpillaneLab research group is highly inter-disciplinary with significant strengths and capabilities in genetics, molecular evolution and biotechnology, and in developmengt of climate smart agricultural and food systems

The group employs research and innovation approaches across multiple disciplines to generate outcomes and impacts, particularly on food security, livelihoods and sustainability (including climate smart agriculture and food systems).

Our group also has research interests in science policy & communication, particularly in relation to the application of science and biotechnologies for meeting needs in developing countries.

Enquiries are welcome from highly motivated post-docs and visiting scientists who feel they can contribute to any of the research topics in our lab. We are very open to collaborations with researchers and research groups whose research is of relevance to the topics under investigation in our group.

If you are interested in joining our group to work on any specific research topic, please contact Prof. Charlie Spillane at the following address.
